I have been reading science fiction since I was a child and I love the idea of exploring situations and behaviour in environments not possible in the real world. My background in both physics and cognitive science has helped me form a unique perspective when it comes to writing and I hope to be able to explore the interaction between the human mind and the physical environment within my stories.

 

My latest novel, The Shell, reflects many of the things I find most fascinating in science fiction. Within the story, readers are taken on a journey which helps them to understand the events that surround the main protagonist and this is essentially what drives the narrative forward. The aim was to produce a lead character that makes sensible, realistic decisions when faced with adverse environments and to tell a story that maintains a mystery whilst leading to a satisfying yet unpredictable conclusion.
